Hangrail height for apparel stores is a millimetre decision on the quotation, not a number copied from a fashion photograph. Independent retailers in Thailand often set one rail “about chest height” for everything: adult dresses, kids’ tees, long coats, and double hang. The shops that convert set height to the garment and the customer, then write it on the fixture schedule so the wall and the floor racks agree.

What hangrail height is actually for

Height is reach, clearance to the floor, and whether a second rail can live underneath. It is not a style. A rail that looks “editorial” in a lookbook and drags hems on a dusty Thai floor is a specification failure.

Single hang is one rail, garments hanging full length. Use it for dresses, coats, long skirts, and anything that must not fold over a second bar.

Double hang is two rails on the same wall or rack, shorter garments above and below. Use it for shirts, trousers, and kids’ when you need density without a second wall. Do not double-hang a midi dress and call it efficient.

Kids versus adult is two pitches on the same shop if you sell both. A child cannot shop an adult rail. An adult will not crouch for a kids’ wall that stole the only perimeter.

Faceouts and waterfall hooks sit at a related height. They are not a substitute for writing the hangrail millimetres. If the faceout is at eye line and the size run is at knee height, you have two shops on one wall.

When to choose single vs double

We do not publish a universal millimetre as a brand standard. Floor finish, hem length, and whether you use a floor-level plinth change the number. Put the height on the quotation for the garments you actually hang — Thai or English.

Floor racks must match the wall

Common mistakes

• One height for dresses and kids.
• Double hang because the wall looked empty. Empty is better than folded hems.
• Copying a European lookbook. Thai hems, AC, and dusty floors change clearance.
• Faceouts at a different story than the rail. The wall should read as one system — slatwall accessories.

1. Single or double hang per wall, not “as photo.”
2. Height from finished floor to rail, millimetres.
3. Kids pitch if you sell kids.
4. Matching height on floor racks.
5. Clearance to skirtings, AC, and mall height caps.

Send shop type, whether you sell kids, and the longest garment you will hang. That is enough to specify height instead of installing a pretty rail nobody can use.
