Acrylic display risers for beauty and gift shops add height without stealing the tester stance. They are small steps, cubes, or nested lifts that put a hero SKU above the tray — not a second counter built from leftover plastic. Independent retailers in Thailand stack every bottle on a riser because the empty counter photographs poorly. The shops that still test and pack keep risers for the story SKU and a flat hygiene surface for testers.

What a riser is for
A riser creates a small hierarchy: hero, then the rest of the family, then testers on the flat. Customers see the campaign. Staff still have somewhere to stand a tester without knocking a tower.
Match the SKU. A lipstick wants a shallow step. A gift box wants a cube that does not hide the wrap. A bulky bottle on a tiny disc is a tip-over, not merchandising.
Leave the tester zone flat. Testers need wipe-down and a staff stance. Height there is a spill. Cash wrap impulse is a different tray at pay — do not copy that tray onto the tester counter.
Do not build a skyline. Three heights on a 600 mm counter is a city. One step, maybe two nested cubes, then stop.
Materials: acrylic is for visibility and wipe-down. We do not publish scratch warranties or “museum grade” claims. Ask thickness and edge finish on the quotation. Melamine cubes are a cousin when you want opacity; they hide dust differently.

Display tables vs walls: a table can take nested cubes as a campaign. The wall still holds depth. Risers are not a substitute for metres of shelf.
Footprint and the quote
Measure the leftover counter after testers, till (if any), and bags. The leftover rectangle is the riser budget — same discipline as the wrap. If there is no leftover, skip the acrylic. A tower in the customer’s writing space is not a specification.
Colour: clear vs frosted vs a brand tint. Clear shows dust. Frosted hides it and hides the SKU behind. Put the choice on the quotation, not in a mood-board caption.
Foreign owners: specify millimetres and how many SKUs sit on the step, in English — buying in Thailand.
Common mistakes
- Riser as the whole counter. Testers lose.
- Every SKU on a different height. Nothing is the hero.
- Acrylic on the wrap packing surface.
- Copying a department-store pyramid in 40 sqm.
What belongs on the quotation
- Count, footprint, and height of each riser set.
- Clear / frosted / tinted.
- Which counter they sit on (tester vs gift vs wrap — usually not wrap).
- Whether they live inside a case.
- Language of the document, Thai or English.
Send shop type, a photo of the counter, and the one SKU family that must sit up. That is enough to specify a step instead of a plastic city.
Height for the hero, flat for the tester
If you are fitting a beauty or gift counter in Thailand, buy risers for the campaign, not for every bottle. Send the shop type, the size, and the opening month through the fixture plan form. - Usually no. Packing needs the surface. Impulse is a tray with a footprint, not a pyramid.
- How many heights on a small beauty counter?
- One step, maybe nested cubes. Three heights on a narrow counter is a skyline that knocks over.
