Nested Display Tables for Independent Shops

Published 30 August 2026 · 4 min read

Explode the nest for a drop. Nest it again so the walk returns. A set left fully open is just three tables.

Nested display tables for independent shops are campaign height without a second furniture family. Two or three cubes or rectangles that tuck, with a lock if they roll. Independent retailers in Thailand buy a “set of tables” and leave them fully exploded in the first two metres forever. The shops that convert nest them after the drop, keep one top as the story, and still walk to the wrap.

This is not a gondola and not a cash wrap. Tables vs walls is when a table beats the perimeter. This page is the nested kit.

What nested tables are for

A nested set gives you a high campaign and a low touch surface that can disappear. Use them for fold, a drop, a gift pyramid that you will unbuild — acrylic risers sit on top, they are not the table.

They lose when they become permanent storage in the decompression zone — layout. They lose when every cube is a different finish. They lose when they roll into the queue without locks.

Apparel: nested tables are for fold and campaign, not for the size run. The size run is hangrail or a long rail — face-out vs shoulder-out. Gift: one nested group plus labelled walls — gift shop checklist.

When to nest vs one table

What a 40 sqm boutique needs usually means one floor story. Nested cubes count as that story when exploded.

Spec that keeps the walk

Locks on casters. Corners that do not bite. Depth that two people can pass. Finish that agrees with the wrap — materials. We do not publish table prices. Compare the floor they consume when fully open.

Street dust and Thai humidity belong in the finish question, not in a lifestyle caption. Mall fire routes may forbid a cluster in the corridor — mall vs street.

Common mistakes

  • Always fully exploded. Then you bought three tables.
  • Nested set plus four-way plus a gondola.
  • No locks.
  • Different woods in one set.
  • Tables as the size run.

What belongs on the quotation

  1. Count of pieces in the nest, sizes nested and exploded.
  2. Casters and locks.
  3. Finish.
  4. Where they sit when exploded vs nested.
  5. Language of the document, Thai or English.

Send shop type, floor size, and whether the centre must stay open. That is enough to specify a nest you can actually put away.

Explode for the drop, nest for the week

If you are fitting a small shop in Thailand, treat nested tables as a campaign kit. Send the shop type, the size, and the opening month through the fixture plan form. We will return one fixture schedule and one written quotation — Thai or English — covering the nest, the wall, and the walk.

Common questions

Should nested tables stay fully open all month?
No. Explode for the campaign, nest when the walk matters more. Otherwise you bought three tables.
Do nested tables need casters?
Only if you will move them, and then specify locks. Rolling cubes in the queue are a hazard.
Can I use nested tables instead of hangrail?
For fold and campaign, yes. The size run still belongs on a rail or a wall.
Nested tables plus a four-way in 40 sqm?
Pick one floor story. Two features split the walk.
