What belongs in the window

One story. An outfit on a mannequin, a campaign bag on a cube, a single product family on a riser. Not a hangrail of the week’s delivery. The window is advertising. The size run is inside — face-out vs shoulder-out.

A riser or plinth so the object sits at the height the pavement actually sees, not at stockroom height. Display tables logic applies: campaign, not storage.

Nothing that needs restocking every hour unless you have the staff. A window of small goods that walks is a gift to the pavement.

Street shops: sun, rain, and dust hit the glass. Specify finish for that, not a lifestyle photo — materials. Mall windows often have lighting and size rules. Get them in writing. Signage is a sibling line on the same schedule if the window is also a lightbox.

What does not belong

• The cash wrap. Packing in the window is an operations accident.
• A four-way packed with sizes.
• Pegboard as the fashion face — pegboard is a labelled niche inside.
• Electrical spaghetti. If a lightbox or a form light is in the window, the point is on the drawing before the glass is dressed — six-week checklist.

Layout: the first two metres inside are still decompression. Do not continue the window clutter through the door.

Landlord and glass

Mall manuals often own window depth, platform height, and whether you may put a form on the sill. Street landlords may own the fascia and not the interior glass. Foreign owners should get the rule on the same English page as the fixture list — buying in Thailand.

We do not invent opening-hour lighting claims or “window package” prices. Wattage, platform size, and install week belong on the quotation.

Common mistakes

• Size run in the glass. It reads as leftover stock.
• Too many forms. One or two. A crowd is a warehouse.
• No change calendar. A window that never changes is a poster that faded.

What belongs on the quotation

1. Platform / riser size and finish.
2. Form count (usually one) if apparel.
3. Lighting as a line if it is not landlord-supplied.
4. Whether the window volume is landlord-controlled.
5. Language of the document, Thai or English.

Send shop type, mall or street, and a photo of the glass from the pavement. That is enough to specify a story instead of a warehouse in the window.
