Slatwall Shelf Depth for Retail Shops
One depth for tees, bags, and bottles is how product walks off or the aisle dies. Specify depth per bay.
Slatwall shelf depth for retail is millimetres matched to the product, not a grocery bay copied onto a boutique wall. Independent retailers in Thailand order one depth for folded tees, bags, and beauty bottles, then watch product walk off or hide.
How much shelving is metres. This page is depth. Slatwall accessories are the family. A lip still matters — bags, shoes.
What depth is for
Sitting product needs a shelf that holds the last without eating the aisle. Too shallow, it walks. Too deep, it is a stockroom on the perimeter and aisle width dies.
Fold / tee. Shallow. The wall is not a warehouse — t-shirts.
Beauty / gift bottles. Depth of the SKU plus a lip if it slides. Testers stay on a flat counter, not a deep shelf as the tester — tester.
Bags / shoes. Deeper, still with a lip. Samples on show, not every colour — shoes.
Peg vs shelf. Counted packs on peg; boxes on a shelf — pegboard. Do not mix one depth for both.
Panel layout: grooves must land the shelf pitch you want. Humidity: edge on the shelf matters as much as the panel.
We do not publish a universal millimetre. Put depth per bay on the quotation — Thai or English.
Common mistakes
- One depth for the whole shop.
- Grocery-deep shelves in 40 sqm.
- No lip.
- Deep shelf as the tester.
What belongs on the quotation
- Depth per bay / product family.
- Lip yes or no.
- Pitch vs hangrail on the same wall.
- Remaining aisle after the shelf.
- Language of the document, Thai or English.
Send shop type and what sits on the shelf. That is enough to specify depth instead of a supermarket module.
Match the SKU, then the millimetres
If you are fitting slatwall in Thailand, write shelf depth per job. Send the shop type, the size, and the opening month through the fixture plan form. We will return one fixture schedule and one written quotation — Thai or English — covering shelves, lips, and the walk.
Common questions
- Can one shelf depth work for the whole shop?
- Rarely. Fold, bottles, and bags want different depths. Name them per bay.
- Do slatwall shelves need a lip?
- If the product slides or walks, yes. Put the lip on the quotation.
- Grocery-depth shelves in a boutique?
- They usually steal the walk and look like storage. Match the SKU, not a supermarket module.
- Shelf or peg for boxed goods?
- Boxes want a shelf. Peg is for blister and hanging smalls.
