Base decks and kick plates on retail wall systems finish the bottom of the bay — remaining walk versus a grocery kick. Independent retailers in Thailand leave the last 150 mm as raw panel because the hangrail started at eye height. The shops that look finished specify a base, a kick, or a low shelf so the wall does not read as leftover sheet.
We do not publish a universal millimetre. Put height and projection on the quotation — Thai or English.
Slatwall panel layout is the bay. Corner and column is the interruption. Aisle width is what is left after a projecting kick. Gondola already has a kick — do not copy a supermarket module onto a boutique perimeter.
What the bottom of the wall is for
Base deck. A finished plinth so grooves do not run into the floor dust. Strong on slat and grid. Humidity: the edge at the floor is the wet line.
Kick plate. A recessed or flush toe space so staff and customers can stand at the wall. Grocery-deep kicks steal boutique walk. Name projection.
Low shelf. Shoes, bags, boxed goods at the bottom pitch — shoe display, slatwall shelf depth. A lip if it walks. Not a dump of overflow stock.
Empty grooves to the floor. Unfinished spec. It photographs as a construction site.
How to measure: floor finish and skirting change the first pitch. Landlord may own skirting. Materials: kick finish should not introduce a fourth metal — chrome vs powder coat.
Mall wet-mop rules may want a wipe-down kick. We do not invent a warranty.

Layout: the first two metres still empty. A kick does not justify a rack in the door.

- Height and projection in millimetres.
- Remaining walk after the kick.
- Finish of the kick vs the wall.
- Language of the document, Thai or English.
Send shop type and floor finish photos. That is enough to specify the bottom of the wall instead of leftover sheet.
Finish the bottom of the bay
If you are fitting slatwall or grid in Thailand, specify the plinth. Send the shop type, the size, and the opening month through the fixture plan form. We will return one fixture schedule and one written quotation — Thai or English — covering the kick, the first pitch, and the walk.

- Do slatwall grooves have to run to the floor?
- No. Specify a base deck or kick. Empty grooves to the mop line look unfinished.
- Can I copy a supermarket kick depth?
- It usually steals boutique walk. Put projection in millimetres on the quotation.
- Is a low shelf the same as a kick?
- No. A shelf is merchandising. A kick is toe space. Name which job per bay.
- Do you publish a standard kick height?
- No universal millimetre. Height and remaining walk go on the quotation for that unit.
