How Many Fitting Rooms a Small Boutique Needs
One working room is the default in 40 sqm. Two curtains that do not meet are zero rooms.
How many fitting rooms a small boutique needs is conversion versus selling floor — one room that works beats two that steal the walk. Independent retailers in Thailand partition two rooms because a mall handbook showed two. The shops that convert keep one room that closes, with hooks and light, and put the second partition back into merchandising.
Fitting room fixtures is the kit inside the room. This page is the count. Layout still owns the first two metres. What a 40 sqm boutique needs already treats one working room as required.
What the count is for
A fitting room is not storage with a curtain. Each extra room eats wall, walk, and queue into the wrap — cash wrap, aisle width.
One room. The default for 30–50 sqm apparel. It must close, hold more than one hook, and not open onto a four-way. Mirror inside. Light specified — fixture lighting — no lux claims.
Two rooms. Only if the unit already has the partitions, or traffic is two customers undressing at once and the floor still walks. Two rooms that cannot close are zero rooms.
Three. In a small boutique this is usually a stock closet you are calling a fitting room. Put stock in back-of-house — back of house.
Mall manuals may dictate minimum size and door swing — landlord, mall vs street. We do not invent those millimetres. Bring the page.
How many mannequins is a different count. Do not trade a working room for a third form in the door.

Kids heights: the adult still needs space for a bag. Do not specify a child-only booth that blocks the only room.

- Two curtains that do not meet.
- Rooms opening onto the feature rack.
- Third room as overflow stock.
- Count copied from a mall typical without measuring the unit.
What belongs on the quotation
- Room count — usually one.
- Kit inside: hooks, closure, seat, mirror, lamp.
- Door swing vs remaining walk.
- Whether a second room is partitions already there or new build.
- Language of the document, Thai or English.
Send shop type and whether partitions exist. That is enough to specify a count instead of a handbook default.
