Lighting for retail display fixtures in Thailand is a line on the same schedule as the wall and the case — not a lux number on a blog, and not a third brand wall of LEDs. Independent retailers often finish slatwall and a cash wrap, then hang a shop light that fights the garment or leaves the tester bay in a cave. The shops that convert put electrical points on the drawing before the panel is cut.
Signage and lightboxes is the communicator. This page is light on product: slatwall, shelves, cases, and the tester counter. We do not publish lux, watt packages, or “LED prices.”
What fixture lighting is for
Customers must see colour and texture. Staff must pack and test without a torch. That is enough of a brief.
Perimeter. If the shop’s only good lamp is in the centre, the hangrail will look dirty. Specify whether the wall gets a dedicated run, and put the point on the panel layout before sheets are ordered.
Cases. Light inside the cabinet is a case line, not a ceiling afterthought — glass cases, jewelry cases. Heat and cable path belong on the quotation.
Testers. A beauty bay without usable light is a display, not a tester — tester planning.
Window. Landlord and sun own much of this — window fixtures, mall vs street.
Do not specify a competing lightbox behind the cashier, another in the window, and LED tape on every groove. Layout wants one story.
Electrical before joinery
A cable on a decorative MDF face is a specification failure. Mall manuals often own this — landlord restrictions. Street shops still need a point that exists, not a hope.
Six-week checklist puts lighting on the same calendar as made-to-order wrap. How to brief: send photos of existing points. We will not invent a lighting design fee or a lux target.
Materials: finish near heat. We do not publish fire ratings. Ask what the landlord requires in writing.

- Lights after the wall is up.
- Lux claims in the brief. We will not write them.
- LED tape as the only merchandising.
- Unlit cases.
- Window lighting that the mall will reject.
What belongs on the quotation
- Which fixtures include light (case, lightbox, wall run).
- Points to leave for others.
- Whether install is included.
- Landlord electrical rules if you have them.
- Language of the document, Thai or English.
Send shop type, photos of the ceiling and walls, and mall or street. That is enough to put light on the schedule instead of on a leftover cable.
Points on the drawing, light on the product

Common questions
- Will you specify a lux level?
- No. We do not publish lux claims. We will list which fixtures include light and which points to leave.
- Can lighting be quoted separately from fixtures?
- A different trade can install it. It should still appear as lines on the same schedule so cables and install week stay coordinated.
- Do cases need their own lights?
- If the cabinet is not under the shop’s only good lamp, yes. Put light as a case line.
- Should every slatwall groove have LED tape?
- No. That is a third brand wall. Light the product, not every groove.
