Shelf Talkers and Price Tickets as Fixture Lines

Published 30 August 2026 · 4 min read

If the customer cannot see a price, they do not have a grab. Put ticket holders on the same schedule as the wall.

Shelf talkers and price tickets belong on the fixture quotation as line items. Unpriced facing is not merchandising. Independent retailers in Thailand finish a beautiful slatwall run and open with unmarked SKUs because “we will print labels later.” The shops that convert specify ticket type, holder, and where the price sits — on the shelf edge, the peg hook, or the garment — in the same schedule as the hangrail.

This is not a graphic-design essay. Signage and lightboxes is the communicator family. This page is the small price object. Gift shops and pegboard die first without it.

What tickets are for

A customer who cannot see a price does not have a grab. They have a conversation. In a small shop that can be hospitality. On a counted wall it is friction.

Shelf-edge tickets for sitting product. The holder is a fixture. The paper or plastic insert is a consumable you still have to choose.

Peg / hook tickets for hanging smalls. If the hook has no ticket slot, you will tape, and tape is not a specification.

Hang tags for apparel. The rail does not replace them. Size run still needs a readable size.

Shelf talkers are campaign, not the whole wall. One message per bay. A forest of talkers is a cancelled story — layout.

Do not treat a lightbox as the price list. The interior communicator is one story — signage. Prices live at the SKU.

How to brief a quotation: say whether you already have a ticket system. Foreign owners: English on the ticket if that is how you sell — buying in Thailand. We do not print your SKU list here. We specify the holder.

Mall rules sometimes own ticket size on the corridor — landlord restrictions. Get it in writing.

Common mistakes

  • Fixtures first, tickets never.
  • Talkers on every SKU.
  • Tape on slatwall as the system.
  • Price only at the wrap.
  • Thai-only tickets in an expat-facing shop without saying so.

What belongs on the quotation

  1. Holder type per surface (edge, hook, hang).
  2. Talker count if campaign (usually few).
  3. Language of the ticket if you want it specified.
  4. Compatibility with the shelf or peg you ordered.
  5. Language of the quotation document, Thai or English.

Send shop type and whether facing is counted or fashion. That is enough to add tickets as lines instead of opening unmarked.

Price at the SKU, on the same schedule

If you are fitting a shop in Thailand, put ticket holders on the fixture list. Send the shop type, the size, and the opening month through the fixture plan form. We will return one fixture schedule and one written quotation — Thai or English — covering walls, wraps, and the tickets that make facing readable.

Common questions

Can we add tickets after opening?
You can, and week 1 will be unmarked. Specify holders with the fixtures so tape is not the system.
Do fashion shops need shelf-edge tickets?
On sitting product and pegs, yes. On hangrail, size and price on the garment. Unpriced facing is still not merchandising.
How many shelf talkers in a small shop?
A few campaign messages. A talker on every SKU cancels the wall.
Should tickets be Thai or English?
Match how you sell. Say so in the brief. The quotation language and the ticket language can differ.
