Queue versus browse path in a small shop is two jobs on one floor — remaining walk for both, wrap last in the walk. Independent retailers in Thailand put the till in the door because the only outlet is there. The shops that still browse keep a named browse aisle and a named queue leftover after packing.
Aisle width is remaining walk. Queue space is two people with bags. Cash wrap is last in the walk — layout. Cash-wrap power: the outlet does not justify a wrap in the door.
What each path is for
Browse. Decompression empty, then the wall. A campaign table after decompression, not in the queue — island vs perimeter, seasonal window vs floor. Endcaps are the short face, not a second queue.
Queue. Leftover width at the wrap for two with bags — not a gondola forest in the path. Impulse is a tray footprint after packing, not a second product wall on the till. Queue stanchions only if leftover width exists; a rope in a 30 sqm unit is often leftover spec.
Neither as the warehouse. Size run stays on the wall — hangrail, how much shelving. Back of house: receiving off both paths.
Opening priority: wrap and walk before campaign. Landlord may own the floor box. Outdoor / common area: we do not invent approval for a rack in the corridor.
